This deteriorating condition typically manifests with progressive sensory disturbance in the limbs, often accompanied by spasticity. In this case report, we present an individual with primary amyloid myelopathy who presented with an unusual clinical presentation.
The patient's initial symptoms included marked proximal muscle weakness, along and frequency and urgency of urination. A lumbar puncture revealed elevated protein levels suggesting amyloid deposits. Brain imaging demonstrated characteristic lesions in the spinal cord consistent with primary amyloid myelopathy.
The management focused on supportive care, including physical therapy and medications to manage symptoms. Nevertheless treatment, the patient's condition continued to worsen. This case underscores the importance of considering primary amyloid myelopathy in the differential diagnosis of patients presenting with progressive neurological symptoms, particularly those with asymmetric limb involvement.
An Uncommon Presentation of Crohn's Disease: A Case Report
We describe a rare case of Crohn's disease in a 28-year-old male presenting with atypical symptoms. The patient initially described symptoms of fatigue, which were mistaken for a common gastrointestinaldisorder. Further investigation revealed colitis. The patient underwent conventional treatment for Crohn's disease, including steroids. The outcome to treatment was favorable.
This case illustrates the necessity of a comprehensive assessment in patients with suspected Crohn's disease, as its presentation can be heterogeneous.
Clinical Presentation
A male/female patient presented to the clinic with a chief complaint/history of symptoms/presenting concern of progressive shortness of breath, cough/dyspnea/respiratory distress. The patient reported a gradual/sudden/insidious onset of symptoms/complaints/manifestations, worsening over the past few months/year/decade. On physical examination, auscultation/palpation/inspection revealed decreased breath sounds in the lower/upper/bilateral lung fields.
Further/Additional/Supplementary investigations included a chest X-ray which demonstrated diffuse/patchy/interstitial opacities consistent with pulmonary fibrosis. A high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) scan of the chest confirmed the diagnosis, revealing honeycombing/fibrotic bands/reticular opacities.
The patient underwent further tests/evaluation/assessments to rule out other potential causes/contributing factors/underlying conditions of pulmonary fibrosis.
